BECKY'S MODERN CLASSIC

As her children got older this family home needed a little bit of an expansion.  With the expansion came a renovation of the living room, dining room, master bedroom and daughter’s room.

In the living space we found this fun floral that paired perfectly with the bold accent wall.  A neutral sofa and textured chairs with contrast welt needed bold pillows to complete the look.  The family had a set of vintage channel back chairs that we decided we would upholster in a neutral fabric so they could be moved throughout the house where extra seating was needed.  We decided to use a coordinating, yet more formal fabric.  On the bay window a simple valance was used to finish off the window without adding too much weight to the window.

Moving upstairs, this teen needed a bedroom makeover that would suit her style.  With the bright bold wall color and fun patterned quilt we went with a subtle texture for all of the window treatments.  Blackout drapery panels on the larger bedroom windows were anchored with modern metal hardware.  On the bed wall blackout roman shades were used to make sure this teen could get her beauty sleep.  Over in the master the pale green walls accenting with a linen floral pattern drapery created a serene spa look.  We completed the wood poster bed with matching queen shams and a tailored striped bed skirt.  Again we used blackout lining on functional panels to black the morning sun.  Sometimes interior windows end up in odd places to keep the exterior looking symmetrical; because this window was so close to the wall we used a functional roman shade.

Overall this renovation made this family home more fictional, giving them a true living and dining space.  Becky has fantastic style and was extremely easy and fun to work with, making this a fun project to work on.
